Tottenham look set to lose another of their top stars with speculation rampant that Rafael van der Vaart is on his way to Hamburg, reports the Daily Mail.
The German club have tabled an offer of £9.5 million which Spurs are willing to accept, making a £1.5 million profit on the Dutch international who signed two years ago.
Should the 29-year-old leave White Hart Lane he would join a list of stars who have found themselves surplus to requirements by new boss Andre Villas-Boas, a list which includes the likes of Sebastian Bassong, Michael Dawson, Niko Kranjcar, Steven Pienaar and others.
Tottenham have only completed three signings this summer, a defender in the shape of Jan Vertonghen, attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
However, with the large numbers leaving the club – Luka Modric expected to leave before the window shuts – the North London side are expected to be extremely busy replenishing their squad in the next week.
Van der Vaart has played 77 games overall for Tottenham and scored 28 goals in that time.
