Johan Djourou could be set to leave Arsenal as Serie A side Napoli line up a £6m offer for the Switzerland international defender, the Daily Mirror has reported.
Djourou has fallen by the wayside at the Emirates Stadium, with combinations of Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker preferred in the centre of defence by manager Arsene Wenger.
That has left Djourou with only one appearance to his name this season, coming in the Capital One Cup against League One side Coventry City last month. However, Djourou is under a long-term and well-paying contract, the Mirror claims, with wages of £50,000 per week coming his way because of a clause in his contract.
The newspaper adds that both Napoli and Juventus were interested in signing the Ivory Coast-born centre-back over the summer but a move never came to pass, but that could change after the 25-year-old was frozen out of the first team picture.
Djourou has been at Arsenal since 2004, having spent time at the club as a youth team player. Spending time on loan at Birmingham City in 2007-08, Djourou has more than 100 Arsenal games to his name and more than 30 international caps.
