Sheffield United have missed out on the loan signing of defender Bob Harris, after Blackpool abandoned the move late last night, the Sheffield Star has revealed.
The 26-year-old, who has previously played for Rotherham and Queen of the South, was set to join Nigel Clough’s side on loan for the rest of the season last night.
However after the departure of Blackpool manager Paul Ince, the new caretaker management installed at Bloomfield Road pulled the plug on the move, meaning that Harris will remain at the Championship club for the time being.
Harris has only made four appearances this season for Blackpool, who currently sit 14th in the league having not won any of their last nine games.
Despite missing out on Harris, United are set to bring in Cardiff City’s John Brayford and Livingston’s Stefan Scougall, after discussions with both players and clubs were said to be in advanced stages.
Brayford, who plays in defence, has previously played for Burton Albion and Derby County, has been said to have chosen Sheffield United due to having played under current Blades boss Clough at Derby.
Scougall, an attacking midfielder, has had plenty of interest from England, having been monitored by both Wolves and Peterborough United. However like Brayford, looks set to make the move to Bramall Lane during the current transfer window.
