Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Blackpool winger Thomas Ince on loan until the end of the season, Sky Sports has reported.
The deal was finally completed late on transfer deadline day, ending the widespread speculation about the 22-year-old’s future. Stoke City failed in a late bid to sign the player, and as it is, Ince, whose Blackpool contract expires at the end of the season, moves to Selhurst Park with Stephen Dobbie going in the opposite direction.
Ince has been seen as one of the Football League’s hottest prospects since he joined Blackpool in the summer of 2011 from Liverpool. Narrowly missing out on helping the club into the Premier League in his first season, Ince leaves after scoring 33 goals in 113 appearances for the Lancashire club.
A statement on the Crystal Palace official website read: ‘Crystal Palace Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Ince on a loan deal until the end of the season.”
The signing of Ince completed a busy final day of the transfer window for Tony Pulis’ side, as Jason Pucheon’s loan move from Southampton was made permanent, while Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey, Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley and Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann have arrived on permanent deals.
