Everton are rumoured to be interested in bringing Greek star Georgios Samaras back to England as the free agent continues to impress at the World Cup, the Metro is reporting.
Samaras left Celtic after six years at the club when his deal expired in the summer, and has won admiring glances from clubs as he helped Greece make the last 16 of the World Cup.
His cool penalty at the death secured a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast in their crunch clash, and the 29-year-old now seems to have impressed Everton.
The Greek winger previously played in the Premier League with Manchester City between 2006 and 2008 before moving to Scotland, at first on loan before a permanent deal was struck.
While he struggled to make an impact at City – scoring just 12 goals in 64 appearances and even booed by his own fans due to his £6m price tag, he became a popular figure at Celtic.
He made 248 appearances in his six years in Scotland, scoring 74 goals, before the club announced they would not be offering him a new contract.
He now could be heading back to the English top flight as Everton mull over an offer for the player.
