Real Madrid have been monitoring the progress of young Tottenham star Harry Kane, fuelling speculation he is the next star to be poached from the club, the Daily Mail is reporting.
Kane was the star of the show last weekend as his two goals helped Spurs overcome fierce rivals Arsenal 2-1 at White Hart Lane, with both goals taking his impressive season to 22 strikes already.
The 21-year-old was tied to a new long term deal towards the end of January as a reward for his incredible rise to prominence.
This has caused Madrid to send scouts to monitor the striker numerous times already this season and they are said to be continuing their brief on the England U21 international.
Kane is sure to be called up to his country’s senior squad in the coming weeks and any success on the international stage will only strengthen Madrid’s resolve.
Kane is already known in Spain with his performances keeping Spain international Roberto Soldado out of the side and representatives of the Spanish giants also saw his two goal showing during Spurs’ 5-3 thriller against Chelsea on New Year’s Day.
Should he continue his impressive development Madrid will be firmly in any future race to sign the striker – and fancy their chances having already poached Gareth Bale and Luka Modric from the North London club in recent seasons.
