Chelsea are extensively monitoring the progress of Anderlecht teenagers Youri Tielemans and Leander Dendoncker, who have attracted interest from top clubs across Europe, according to the Daily Mail.
Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are also keen on a move for the 17-year-old Tielemans, who faced the latter in the Champions League group stages earlier in the season. Indeed, he became the youngest Belgian player to appear in Europe’s premier competition when he made his debut in 2013.
The central midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of next season, has established himself as a regular in the Anderlecht first-team despite his tender age, making 38 appearances in all competitions this term and scoring four goals.
Dendoncker, 19, is a more defensively minded player who has broken into the starting XI this season, making 26 appearances and scoring twice, including in Sunday’s 2-0 league victory over Kortrijk. For that game, Chelsea scout Tony White was said to be in attendance, with the club keen to sign two players who have come through the same academy as Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany among others.
