Tottenham midfielder Nacer Chadli believes teammate Harry Kane can become a successful mainstay in the England national team, after the 21-year-old received his first call-up to the senior squad, reports Sky Sports.
Kane recently netted a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 4-3 win against relegation-threatened Leicester City in the Premier League, which took his tally of goals to 19. His first league goal of the campaign was only back in November, and he’s now forced his way into the England national team as a result of his impressive consistency.
Teammate Nacer Chadli, who is an experienced international player for Belgium himself, believes Harry Kane has all the hallmarks to be a top player in the future for the Three Lions. He feels Kane is easy to get on with, and would take little time to make himself at home.
England face Lithuania (Euro 2016 qualifier) and Italy (friendly) during the international break, and following injury to Daniel Sturridge, Kane could be in line to start in attack. Chadli has said the young striker has the mental strength to succeed on the international scale, and added that he’s been great to work with for Spurs this season.
“He’s a very quiet and relaxed guy. He’s good to work with in a group and (I’m sure) he will be accepted easily by the other players. He has the quality and the mentality to play at the highest level. He’s a very good player and very talented,” he said.
