According to BBC Sport, Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak has been charged for violent conduct by an independent panel, which could now land him a four-match ban.
The Australian international, 30, was found guilty of deliberately using an elbow on West Ham striker Diafra Sakho during the Eagles win over the Londoners. Jedinak’s conduct wasn’t initially spotted during the game by match officials, and could therefore be dealt with retrospectively.
Palace manager Alan Pardew didn’t feel the midfielder who be in hot water over the elbow, previously saying he’d be surprised if any action was taken, but could now miss the next four games, as he’s been already banned.
The three-man panel were said to unanimously agree that Jedinak’s elbow was deliberate, and the 30-year-old has until 18:00 GMT to respond to the charges. Alan Pardew is said to be furious with the charges, especially with how much of a key player Jedinak has been for the Londoners, but the footage appears to show a deliberate intent.
Crystal Palace’s next games are Southampton (away), QPR (home), Stoke City (away) and Manchester City (home). Jedinak looks set to miss out.
