Tottenham are set to complete the signing of Cologne defender Kevin Wimmer after agreeing a fee of £4.3m for the 22-year-old, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Wimmer has been a regular in the Cologne side this season, starting 24 of their 25 games in the Bundesliga. His contract was set to run until the summer of 2019, but he is now set to complete a move to White Hart Lane, which will go through in June.
The Austrian, who earned his only senior international cap in his career so far in November 2013, has been watched regularly by Tottenham scouts and they believe he fits the profile of defender that they are looking for, with the club having made it their priority to add quality at the back to their squad in the summer.
The arrival of Wimmer is likely to pave the way for out-of-favour duo Vlad Chiriches and Younes Kaboul to leave the club, while a number of other players look set to be moved on including Etienne Capoue and Aaron Lennon, who is currently on loan at Premier League rivals Everton.
