Chelsea striker Diego Costa is hoping he can recover from his latest hamstring injury to be fit in time to face Arsenal in two weeks, reports the Express.
The Brazilian-born Spanish international limped off just 11 minutes into Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Stoke City on the weekend, and was ruled out for the majority of April. But with the Blues facing Arsenal on the 26th of the month, Costa wants to feature, as it could well be the game that seals the Premier League title for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Costa, 26, has shone since his arrival from Atletico Madrid, scoring 19 goals in 24 league games. His manager has said all through the season that the Spaniard had been suffering problems with his hamstring, but was playing through the pain. He’s suffered setbacks all through the season as a result of his injury woes, but could now miss key games for Chelsea.
His injury picked up against Stoke City could now see him miss Sunday’s clash against Queens Park Rangers, and their following game versus Manchester United on the 18th too. They face Arsenal eight days after, and Costa will be hoping to feature, as he played a big role in Chelsea’s victory over the Gunners before.
