Everton forward Steven Naismith is wanted by La Liga side Malaga, the Daily Mail has reported, although it’s not thought Roberto Martinez is willing to part with the Scotland international.
Naismith has been at Goodison Park since a 2012 move from Rangers, signing on a free transfer from the Glasgow club, and has scored 11 goals in 40 games so far in 2014-15, with a total of 22 goals in 104 appearances for the Toffees.
It’s believed that the 28-year-old’s showing in the Europa League, helping Everton to the Round of 16, where they were beaten 4-6 on aggregate by Dynamo Kiev. Naismith scored twice in five European appearances under Martinez before Everton were knocked out by the Ukrainian giants.
Everton though would be reluctant to part with Naismith, a regular under Martinez, and Malaga are not thought to have the financial capacity to tempt the club in to selling against their will. Malaga are currently seventh in La Liga.
