Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain was present to see Bayern Munich hammer Porto in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday night, with the Daily Mail reporting Yacine Brahimi and Alex Sandro were the players on his agenda.
City had scouts watching the first leg meeting between the sides, it’s claimed, a game Porto won 3-1. Bayern recovered in the return, smashing Julen Lopetegui’s side 6-1 to take the tie 7-4 on aggregate.
Sandro, a left-back, is said to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, while Bayern have looked at Brahimi, an Algeria international winger formerly of Granada. He moved to Portugal in the summer of 2014 after two years with El Grana, the first spent on loan from Rennes. He has played 27 times for Porto, scoring 11 goals.
Brazil international Sandro has been a Porto player since 2011, leaving Santos. He has half-a-dozen caps for his country, and the 24-year-old has made more than 100 appearances for Porto.
