Manchester United’s unwanted midfielder Tom Cleverley, who is currently on loan with Aston Villa, is said to be a target for London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham in the summer, with his contract with the Red Devils set to expire at the end of the current season, reports Sky Sports.
The England international, 25, joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan in the summer, and has impressed in the side most recently under new manager Tim Sherwood. He was deemed surplus to requirements with Manchester United following the appointment of manager Louis van Gaal, and is now set to be released on a free transfer in the summer.
Reports have suggested Arsenal and Tottenham would be keen on the midfielder to use as a squad player, as he fit’s the mould both clubs are currently striving towards. Cleverley is an industrious player, who focused on ball retention in his play, as well as providing real combative attributes to do his job defensively.
Aston Villa, West Ham United and Everton are three other clubs very keen on signing the United man, but it’s unlikely he will make an y decision about his future until the Red Devils make it clear that he will be out of the door in the summer.
