Manchester United defender Chris Smalling should be fit to featuring against Aston Villa in this weekend’s Premier League return, despite having coming off for England due to sickness this week, reports the Express.
The former Fulham centre-back was replaced by teammate Michael Carrick for England, after coming off with what appeared to be sickness. He looked dazed on the pitch not long before half-time, and was forced to be substituted. However, it wasn’t thought to be anything serious, and reports are suggesting he will be back in action ahead of their weekend clash against Aston Villa.
Smalling has been a regular in the Manchester United defence when fit this season. The versatile man has been utilised frequently by manager Louis van Gaal, and is showing signs he could well be a mainstay at Old Trafford. He will be a key component this weekend for their meeting against Aston Villa, as the Red Devils have been thin on options in their backline.
The 25-year-old has since recovered from his withdrawal in the England game, and still has a few days to get back to normal, so he should be 100% for Saturday.
