Everton could the benefactors of Louis van Gaal’s fractured relationship with Nani, as the Toffees would reportedly like to take the Portuguese winger on loan next season.
The 28-year-old has made just one substitute appearance for Manchester United this campaign, having spent most of the year back in his home country, with first club Sporting Lisbon.
And, while he has done well for the side, scoring ten goals in the league and Champions League, The Sun have reported that the club cannot afford to keep him permanently, as he currently earns £110,000 a week at United.
Van Gaal seems to have no intention of using him upon his return to Old Trafford, which has persuaded Roberto Martinez to make an enquiry for the player.
The Merseyside team are preparing to lose Kevin Mirallas in the summer, and have apparently pinpointed Nani as the man they wish to replace him.
Everton are also said to be keen to take Adnan Januzaj on loan to Goodison Park next season. The Belgian has failed to build on an impressive first year at United, and has seen much less first-team football under van Gaal.
