Wolfsburg midfielder Luis Gustavo has admitted that he would be interested in leaving the club for a top European side this summer, citing Chelsea as a possible destination, The Telegraph reports.
The Brazilian reportedly has a £33m release clause installed in his contract, and though he has stated that he is happy with the German Cup winners, he can’t help but dream of a move to a bigger side.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for his services in the past, but a move ultimately came to nothing.
However, he could spark a transfer scramble for his signature after his comments this week suggested that he would find turning a move down difficult should a top club make a pass for him.
When asked whether he would be interested in a move to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid or former club Bayern Munich, he replied: “If I were to be able to once again have the chance to go to such a club, then that would be like a gift to me.
“However, I also know what I have at VfL. I am incredibly happy here.”
