The bad news just keeps on coming for Copa America hosts Chile this week as just 24 hours after Arturo Vidal was involved in a high speed drink-drive smash, playmaker Alexis Sanchez has been rated as doubtful for Friday’s clash with Bolivia.
According to AFP, the Arsenal forward had to pull out of training with the national team with a muscle injury to his right leg, and will now undergo a series of test to determine whether he will be able to take part in the final group game on Friday.
A lot rests on the clash, with the winner heading through to the next round, whereas the loser could find themselves heading home if Mexico manage to get a result against Ecuador.
The Chilean coaching staff will be doing everything they can to ensure that he will be fit enough to take part in the match, but Arsenal fans will be holding their breath by hoping that he doesn’t further injure himself playing in games when he isn’t fully fit.
