Arsenal have apparently submitted a £13m offer for land standing Manchester United target Ezequiel Garay, according to the Daily Star.
The Zenit St Petersburg star has been on United’s radar for the better part of a year, though the Red Devils passed up the chance to bring him on board last summer while he was with Benfica, and he completed a £4m switch to Russia instead.
However, reports in Italy are suggesting that Arsene Wenger is prepared to pounce on United dragging their feet by submitting a £13m offer for the Argentine international.
United currently have their hands full with trying to convince Real Madrid to give them access to Sergio Ramos, suggesting that their attentions have shifted elsewhere.
Garay was a crucial part of Benfica’s success, and contributed to Zenit’s march to the Russian title last season by making 15 appearances, scoring one goal.
