Forgotten Arsenal man Lukas Podolski has reportedly told manager Arsene Wenger that he wants to join Turkish giants Galatasaray this summer after seeing that he has no future at the Emirates Stadium, the Daily Express reports.
The World Cup winner barely featured for Arsene Wenger’s men last term, and was subsequently shipped out on loan to Inter Milan during the second part of the season.
However, Inter passed on taking up the option to make his stay a permanent one, and reports in Turkey are now suggesting that the 29-year-old has agreed a deal with Galatasaray.
But it is now being said that Podolski is set to ask Wenger to lower his asking price from £5m as he hopes that the fee will not prove to be the stumbling block that stands in the way of his exit.
On the subject of a move to Turkey, Podolski recently told TV channel NTV Sport: “If an offer comes from Turkey, I will sit down and talk about it with my family and girlfriend.
“If I find the right club, the right coach, the right environment, I will evaluate it.
“If these conditions are met, I think everything is possible.
“The next transfer could be my last, so I have to take a well-thought step.”
