Forgotten Arsenal youngster Wellington Silva is set to be offered a new contract by the club, according to reports in the Daily Express.
The Brazilian winger joined the Gunners back in 2011, but has yet to make a first team appearance with the club due to problems obtaining a work permit.
However, Arsene Wenger has decided to keep hold of him and send him out on loan in order to get regular first team football, and in the past he has linked up with the likes of Levante and Almeria – whom he made 31 appearances for last term.
But the 22-year-old is now able to link up with Arsenal having been granted a Spanish passport, and according to reports in ESPNFC, Wenger will hand him an extended deal with just one-year remaining on his current contract.
This would suggest that Wenger sees a long term future for him in north London, though he may be sent out on loan again next season to another English side, in a bid to get up to speed with the demands of the Premier League.
