Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has confirmed that he is expecting to announce the departure of midfield star Ilkay Gundogan next week, the Daily Express reports.
Manchester United have had the player on their radar for some time now, and have reportedly been in talks with the 24-year-old after having a £21m bid accepted by the German giants.
And it is now believed that the deal will be completed at some point after the weekend.
Louis van Gaal is keen to add more new faces to his squad after landing PSV Eindhoven star Memphis Depay, and Zorc had already previously hinted that Gundogan would be on his way to Old Trafford at some point over the summer.
“We will have players leaving our club this summer,” Zorc said. “There will be some action in the turn of next week.”
Gundogan has missed a considerable amount of action over the past 18 months with a number of injury problems, but that isn’t believed to have stopped the likes of United and Premier League rivals Arsenal from hunting his signature.
