Manchester City striker Eden Dzeko has rejected a move to Liverpool as part of the deal that could see the deposed Premier League champions land Raheem Sterling, the Daily Mirror reports.
City had a £30m move for the England international rejected by the Reds last week, but will now make a fresh offer in the coming days.
And they had been hoping to kill two birds with one stone by offloading unwanted striker, Dzeko, only the 29-year-old has no interest in making the move to Anfield anytime soon.
With Liverpool unlikely to accept a straight cash deal for the 20-year-old, City may have to come up with another idea to make sure they get their man.
With Chelsea also interested in Sterling, City will have to find another player to offer up in a player-plus-cash deal as the Reds come under increasing pressure to cash in on him.
