Here is a look at the top ten players in the Premier League, as decided by The Telegraph. Unsurprisingly, Chelsea – who clinched their fourth title since the competition began in 1992 – dominate the list with four names. Meanwhile, a certain Tottenham man is the only name on the list to come from a club outside the top four.
Here is the list in full:
10- Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
The little magician adapted wonderfully to being deployed slightly deeper in Arsenal’s midfield, and providing an experienced head to sit alongside Francis Coquelin. His array of passing was incredible to watch at times, and his ability to run with the ball makes the transition from the defence to attack seamless. With seven goals and 11 assists, there are few players who were more productive than the Spaniard.
9- Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
The skipper was a real driving force behind United’s resurgence as a force of English football midway through the season. He showed real maturity throughout the campaign, and was often seen on the edge of his own box, trying to support the inexperienced defence. He has been used in a variety of positions by Louis van Gaal, and played in each one with a quality that makes him look like he could have had an equally successful career in the new roles, as he has done as a striker. The 29-year-old has still managed 12 goals in the Premier League, despite being shifted around the pitch.
