Former Napoli star Jose Alberti has told reporters that in-demand striker Gonzalo Higauin will leave the club this summer to link up with Arsenal on a mega money contract, the Metro reports.
Higuain has found himself become one of the most in-demand strikers in the world this summer, having fired in 29 goals across 56 appearances in all competitions last term. He has since informed the Serie A side that he intends to move on in the transfer window, though.
A number of Premier League sides are believed to be interested, with the likes of Arsenal credited with an interest, Chelsea are said to have lodged a £30m bid, and Manchester United have reportedly agreed terms on a deal to bring him to Old Trafford.
However, Jose Alberti has given an indicator as to where the Argentine international’s future will lie by claiming he is on his way to Arsenal.
“I’m 90% sure he will go to Arsenal,” he said.
“The contract could be a minimum of £3.6million-a-year.
“It’s not possible that he will remain at Napoli this year after they missed out on the Champions League.”
