Chelsea captain John Terry has hailed Everton youngster John Stones ahead of a potential summer bid for the England under-21 starlet, the Daily Star reports.
Stones is said to be high on Jose Mourinho’s summer wish list, and furthermore, he is also the man that veteran skipper Terry believes should be the man to replace him.
However, the Toffees have no intentions of letting the player leave during the upcoming transfer window, and have attempted to put off any interested suitors by placing a £32m valuation on his head.
However, Terry admitted that he is a big fan of the Evertonian, and that his club should do whatever they can to ensure he becomes a Chelsea player in the near future.
“I have seen a lot of games and I am a big fan of his,” Terry said.
“He pulls wide of the box and wants the ball and for a young defender to do that in the Premier League takes some guts.
“He is exceptional with both feet, he is a ball-playing centre half which you need to be these days.
“He is extremely confident.
“He looks to play from the back and that can only be good for English football that the likes of him are coming through.
“He is definitely one I have been impressed by.”
Stones joined Everton back in 2013 from Barnsley, and has since gone on to make a total of 54 appearances for the Goodison Park side across all competitions, scoring one goal.
