Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is on the verge of signing a new £30m deal to keep him at the club until 2019, the Daily Mail reports.
The contract is set to be signed in the coming weeks after both Mourinho and the club were reportedly pleased with the progress of the negotiations.
The reported ease at which the agreement was reached is a stark contrast to the tempestuous relationship Mourinho had with the Chelsea board during his first spell in charge. He eventually left the club in 2007 after a poor start to the campaign, only to return six years later.
But those close to the club are more aware of how Mourinho and owner Roman Abramovic work together, with the pair now more experienced in how to deal with each other.
The new deal will see Mourinho net a whopping £7.5m a season, and will take one giant step towards Mourinho building a lasting legacy at the club.
