Manchester United winger Nani has denied claims that he is set to join Benfica this summer, the Daily Express reports.
The Portuguese international spent the previous campaign on loan back with former club Sporting Lisbon, with reports now suggesting that he could move across the city to link up with the side from the Estadio da Luz.
A seemingly forgotten man at United, where he has bagged 25 goals in 147 Premier League games, he is being tipped to move on in the coming weeks, though he has moved to reject claims that he will be head ing to Benfica.
Currently away on national team duty, when asked about the rumours he replied: “No, I don’t think about possibly signing for Benfica and I don’t want to talk about it as I said before.”
“My focus is with Portugal right now and I just think about our next game and my holiday afterwards.”
Nani was in good form for Sporting last season, bagging 12 goals in 35 appearances for the club across all competitions. He was particularly on song in European competition, where he notched four goals in seven games, sparking talk that there could still be a future for him at Old Trafford.
