Real Madrid look set to extend already one of the longest transfer sagas of the summer, as they plan to make a quite laughable first offer for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea.
According to the Daily Mail, Louis van Gaal is wanting £25m for the Spaniard, but Los Blancos plan to offer just over half of that, with a starting bid of £13m.
The Mail suggest although they expect the Premier League side to knock the offer back, Madrid will argue that as the 24-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract, he should not command as high a transfer fee.
It may put the Old Trafford club in a very difficult position should Madrid decide to not come in with an improved offer.
As De Gea has one year left on his current deal, he may be able to move to the Bernabeu for nothing next summer, should he not be convinced to stay in England.
