Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has suggested that Louis van Gaal will have an eye-watering £200m to spend this summer, as the Old Trafford club attempt to move back into the Premier League title picture.

According to The Sun, the Dutch striker believes that his boss will have around the same figure he was given last year, when he brought in the likes of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, and Angel Di Maria.
“United spent £200m on players last year and they are going to spend another £200m this summer so we will have a team that can compete for the title,” he stated.
However, The Sun report that he is also unsure whether he will get to enjoy playing alongside the revamped squad as a question mark remains over his own future with the club.
“I will take everything into consideration when I decide on my future and I know I have to be realistic about the situation,” the former Arsenal man added.
Should van Persie be told to look for another club, van Gaal will be in desperate need of adding some firepower up front, especially as he decided against the option of keeping Radamel Falcao.
One striker he has been linked with is Real Madrid star Karim Benzema. However, The Sun report that none of the £200m will be spent on the Frenchman if his agent’s comments are anything to go by.
“What is Karim going to do in Manchester? He’s happy in Madrid. He doesn’t want to leave,” Karim Djaziri said.
