Southampton midfield star Victor Wanyama has admitted that he would like to join Arsenal, according to the Daily Star.
The Kenyan international claimed in April that the Gunners were keen on signing him, but them immediately attempted to put distance between himself and the speculation.
However, the rumours could be set to kick off again after he admitted to a television station in his homeland that he would be interested in making the move to the Emirates.
“It would be nice to move to Arsenal,” he said.
“But at this moment such decisions can only be made by Southampton and that is where my concentration as a player is.”
The 23-year-old joined Southampton from Scottish champions Celtic back in the summer of 2013 for a fee of £12.5m. He has gone on to make 50 appearances for the Saints across all competitions, scoring three goals in the process.
It had been reported that he was on Arsenal’s radar before leaving Glasgow, though the move failed to materialise. But his latest comments suggest that he would definitely be interested in finally joining the club if they make an offer.
