Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has reportedly told Louis van Gaal that he should look to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
Manchester United Transfer Gossip
The Sun report that the Dutchman is an admirer of the 21-year-old, who enjoyed an unbelievable season in the Premier League. Despite not being originally considered part of Mauricio Pochettino’s Premier League plans – apart from a few substitute appearances – Kane was eventually given his chance, and proved himself by bagging 21 goals in the top flight.
That impressive first year has got plenty of sides interested, with the Daily Mirror previously reporting that United were planning a £40m bid.
And now having worked with the Spurs forward at international level, Rooney has supposedly told his club manager that he sees a lot of qualities that United should be looking for in a new striker, The Sun report.
United do need to add another goalscorer to their ranks as they try to build upon a promising first year under the Dutchman. With Radamel Falcao’s loan not being made permanent, the club are now even more stretched for options.
