Manchester City look set to miss out on signing Kevin de Bruyne after the Wolfsburg chairman suggested that the Bundeliga side have no intention of selling their best players.

According to the Daily Mirror, Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz revealed that following a great season for the German club, they want to keep their squad together.
“We want to confirm our success this season in the future and, for that, we are keeping this team together,” he said.
Despite enduring a difficult time at Chelsea – at the end of which he was discarded as a flop – de Bruyne has rebuilt his career with Wolfsburg. He has become the talisman of one of the rising teams in European football, helping them to second place in the league – and a place in next year’s Champions League – and their first ever triumph in the German Cup, as they spoiled Jurgen Klopp’s farewell as Borussia Dortmund manager with a win in the final.
Understandably therefore, he has become one of the most wanted midfielders across the continent, with City previously leading the charge for his signature, before the hands off warning. Manuel Pellegrini currently boasts one of the oldest squads in the Premier League, so bringing in the 23-year-old would signal in a new era for the club.
