Arsenal are said to be ready to meet the wage demands set by Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets in a bid to push the move through a move, the Metro reports.
The Gunners have emerged as a possible destination for the midfielder after Wenger reportedly asked for the funds to sign the Spanish international personally.
And now a report in the Daily Telegraph is claiming that Wenger is willing to meet the player’s wage demands to bring him to the club.
Busquets is said to be on a wage of £120,000-per-week in Catalonia, but is said to be keen on earning even more on his next deal.
With Arsenal’s highest earners collecting wages somewhere around the £140,000 mark, the 27-year-old could expect to be on something similar should he decide to make the switch to North London.
Since making his breakthrough into the Barca first team back in 2008, he has been a constant in all the recent successes the club have enjoyed, making a total of 331 goals in the process.
