Arsenal have seemingly been given another chance to complete snap up Schalke star Julian Draxler after the Metro reported that the Bundesliga giants rejected a £15.6m offer from Juventus for his signature.
It had looked as though Arsene Wenger had missed out on his man when the Serie A giants began talks to make their own move for the Germany international (via ESPN) but it now appears as though the Gunners boss has been handed another chance to bring him to London after the Daily Express reported that Juve’s bid was turned down.
The Metro claims that Wenger could end the speculation and finally take him to Arsenal by lodging a £30m bid – a fee that the German giants are reportedly holding out for.
However, Chelsea are also thought to be keeping a close watch on the situation, and could decide to pip Arsenal to the post with a late move of their own.
But last week Mourinho told reporters (via BBC) that he was only looking for a new left-back having sold Felipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid, explaining that he had no space for new players in other positions unless he let somebody go first.
All signs are pointing towards Wenger being able to come out on top in the race to sign Draxler, especially after Arsenal director Lord Harris gave an insight into how much money the club had to spend last week (via Daily Mail).
