Here is Saturday’s news and gossip concerning Arsenal:
The Gunners are planning to step in ahead of Liverpool, and make a stunning bid for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus, the Daily Telegraph report.
The report suggests that the German will cost around £50m.
Arsene Wenger’s men have also joined Manchester City and Chelsea in the race to sign Real Madrid’s attacking midfielder Isco, according to the Daily Express.
The Spanish giants may only be tempted to sell however, if they receive a bid of at least £35m.
They also want to scupper Manchester United’s transfer plans, according to the Daily Star, by making an £8m bid for Juventus forward Fernando Llorente.
The 30-year-old has struggled to make the grade at Juventus Stadium.
Aaron Ramsey has admitted that he’s flattered by speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona, and suggested that he would like to play in Spain one day, the Metro report.
However, he also insisted that he’s happy at the Emirates.
“One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that,” he explained.
“But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things,” he added.
Finally, Arsenal’s hopes of landing William Carvalho have been hugely dented, after the Daily Express reported that Paris Saint-Germain were considering the possibility of triggering his £32m release clause.
