Arsenal are believed to be weighing up a £35m offer for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to the Metro.
The Gunners are in the market for a proven marksman this summer, and have been extensively linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema (via London Evening Standard).
However, manager Arsene Wenger has been unable to get the move off the ground, and has since put a contingency plan into action with the Daily Express claiming that he is now ready to lodge a £35m bid for Bayern Munich front man Robert Lewandowski.
Having hit 17 strikes for the Bundesliga champions last season, he has once again proved himself to be a reliable source of goals as he took his overall tally up to 103 in 186 games.
It is thought that Bayern will be looking for more money than what Arsenal will be offering, though with deeper cash reserves, the Gunners will be able to dip into their extra funds in order to get the deal over the line.
