Arsenal are believed to be readying a surprise move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, according to the Metro.
The Gunners are known to be on the lookout for a new striker this summer and the Metro have already linked them with France internationals Karim Benzema and Alexandre Lacazette, but Dzeko’s precarious situation at the Etihad has now seem him become the latest striker to be tipped with a move to north London.
A report in the Daily Star has said that complications surrounding deals for the Frenchmen have forced Wenger to look elsewhere for extra firepower, and having already poached one player from a title rival in the shape of Petr Cech from Chelsea, Arsenal are now ready to do it all over again.
The 29-year-old Bosnian has been told that he is free to leave City this summer for the right price. However, the Metro also claims that Italian giants Roma are also keen on his services, though he is said to be keen on staying in the Premier League.
Dzeko certainly wouldn’t be the worst option for Wenger. His height and arial ability would set him apart from the rest of Arsenal’s forwards, and his record of 71 goals in 185 appearances for City means he would virtually guarantee goals.
