Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has confirmed that he is interested in bringing Felipe Luis back to the club from Chelsea, the Daily Express reports.
The Brazilian international joined Chelsea from Atletico last summer in a £16m move that saw him pen a three-year deal.
However, despite only making nine appearances in the Premier League for the Blues last term, Chelsea are still expecting to collect around £14m for his signature.
But that hasn’t seemed to have perturbed Diego Simeone, who has confessed that he wants the right-back to return and will almost definitely consider signing him this summer.
“He’s a player we’re very fond of and he knows us well and gave so much to the team,” Simeone said.
“I hope this one comes off.”
The 29-year-old initially spent four years in the Spanish capital between 2010-14, after joining them from fellow La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna.
He made 180 appearances for the side during that time, scoring five goals in the process and helping them to five titles, including the La Liga title and the Europa League.
