Atletico Madrid are said to be considering using attacking midfield star Arda Turan as part of a deal to snap up Arsenal star Santi Cazorla, the Metro reports.
Diego Simeone is a known admirer of the Spanish international, and had been hoping to strike up a deal to bring him back to La Liga, but The Telegraph are now reporting that he would be willing to include Arda Turan as part of the agreement.
Chelsea and Manchester United have both been credited with a heavy interest in the Turkish international recently, but Atletico’s interest in Cazorla may see the club use him as part of a trade off.
Arda Turan had been believed to be in talks with fellow La Liga giants Barcelona, however, the Metro states he moved quickly to deny those rumours, prompting fresh speculation to suggest that he may be Premier League bound after all.
The Daily Mail claimed on Saturday that Atletico will ramp up their interest in Cazorla this summer, and will now likely attempt to capitalise on the fact they will lose Arda Turan either way this summer.
