Chilean international midfielder Charles Aranguiz is said to have his heart set on a move to the Premier League this summer and is waiting for both Chelsea and Arsenal to firm up their apparent interest in him after Marseille lodged an official bid, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Gunners have been credited with an interest in his signature recently, but faced some big name competition in the form of Premier League rivals Chelsea and Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.
The 26-year-old is currently on the books of Brazilian giants Internacional, but is expected to make the move to Europe this summer after impressing during the Copa America, where he helped Chile to victory on home turf.
The Mirror claim that Marseille have already lodged a bid for his services, but his agent, Cesar Behling, has confirmed that they are waiting on a movement from England before deciding whether to make a decision on the French side’s offer.
“Aranguiz prefers the Premier League,” Behling said.
“But Marseille and Ligue 1 also have a great reputation and can’t be ruled out.”
