Jose Mourinho has decided to be ruthless as his squad prepare for the defence of their Premier League crown.
According to the Daily Star, the Portuguese is looking to sell full-back Filipe Luis and wingers Mohamed Salah and Juan Cuadrado.
While Luis’ and Salah’s departures will act as no great surprise to Blues fans, the imminent sale of Cuadrado is certainly something of a shock.
The Colombian moved to Stamford Bridge during the last transfer window, after enjoying an excellent World Cup and continuing that form during the first half of the season with Fiorentina. The Blues spent £26.1m on the 27-year-old (via Star), as Mourinho attempted to create some space between themselves and Manchester City in the title race.
However, Cuadrado would fail to score, or register an assist during his 12 top flight appearances.
The Star report that Juventus are interested, but Mourinho will not sell unless he receives the same amount that the Blues spent on him in the first place.
Should the former Udinese man head back to Serie A, he could well be joined by Salah, with the Star suggesting that a move to Roma is on the cards. Like Cuadrado, the 23-year-old shone in Italy, but failed to make the grade under Mourinho.
