Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has reportedly told his teammates that he will be moving to Manchester United this summer.
According to the Metro, the Red Devils have agreed a deal with the Eredivisie side, and it now appears that the move is set to be completed. The Metro report that the fee is around £20m for the Netherlands international.
The Metro suggest that the deal had been agreed provisionally, with the potential departure of David de Gea firmly fixed in Louis van Gaal’s mind, and while fans of the Old Trafford outfit will be happy to see the 26-year-old arrive, it may make them nervous that the Spaniard may imminently be on his way out during this window.
Nevertheless, Cillessen’s move means that van Gaal could have four top stoppers to pick from ahead of the new Premier League season, following the arrival of Sergio Romero.
The presence of such depth would make de Gea’s departure much easier to stomach, should the Spaniard leave the club.
