However, Tottenham don’t want to sell the striker and could threaten to turn this move into a saga.
Manchester United’s 31-year-old striker Robin van Persie has agreed a deal in principle over a transfer to Turkish club Fenerbahce, according to The Observer.
It is understood that Van Persie’s agent, Kees Vos, has been in Istanbul for the past two days, involved in negotiations with the Turkish club to secure a deal.
But the Dutchman wants United to pay out the final year of his contract, worth £12m, even though Fenerbahce will match his £250,000-a-week salary, the Daily Mirror reports.
