Manchester United are said to be lining up a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas as a replacement for David de Gea, who has been linked with a move in the opposite direction, the Daily Express reports.
De Gea’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu is already being long drawn out, but is seat to go ahead once Iker Casillas completes a proposed move to Portuguese giants Porto.
After the World Cup last summer, the Costa Rican international was highly sought-after thanks to his performances during the tournament. He ended up moving to the Spanish capital, but is still not seen as a long term replacement for Casillas.
A swap deal between de Gea and Sergio Ramos has been mooted, as Louis van Gaal has made a new defender one of his top priorities this summer, but he could now be ready to turn his attentions towards Navas.
United already have 33-year-old Victor Valdes that can step into de Gea’s shoes, but it is thought that he wants another set of gloves to compete for the number one spot.
