Manchester United have apparently stepped up their interest in Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale this summer by making a £99.5m offer for his services, according to a report in the Metro.
United have held a long standing interest in the flying Wales international and were being linked with his signature at the start of the summer, only to seemingly cool their jets by looking at other players elsewhere.
Bale endured a difficult season at the Santiago Bernabeu, and despite managed to 17 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions, the fans still used him as a scapegoat for missing out on the league title and their failure to retain their Champions League trophy.
And now Spanish media outlet COPE have taken to Twitter to report that United have already offered up a €140m (£99.5m) bid to bring Bale back to the Premier League.

However, it is believed that Real have already rejected the offer, as Rafael Benitez is excited at the prospect of working with him next season, and is already planning on building the team around him.
The Metro claim that Louis van Gall will have £120m to spend in the transfer market this summer, and is willing to spend the majority of it on Bale.
