Manchester United are reportedly set to complete a move for AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper Nick Olij, according to reports in the Metro.
United will have to step up their search for reinforcements between the sticks this summer as the future of David de Gea remains unclear and it now appears as though Victor Valdes could also be on his way after a spat with manager Louis van Gaal (via the BBC).
However, United may have taken their first step into filling the gap soon to be left by the two Spaniards, after the Manchester Evening News reported that a young goalkeeper would soon be arriving from the Netherlands before Squawka identified the player as AZ Alkmaar’s Nick Olij.
The 19-year-old shot stopper is yet to make an appearance for Alkmaar, he has been included in the first team squad on numerous occasions recently and is being built up for a big future in the game.
Though no fee has been touted, the Metro believe he would be free to move on for a minimal training compensation repayment.
