The 18-year-old’s arrival follows hot on the heels of the signings of fellow English players Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph, who both joined the club last week.
City’s need to more homegrown players has been well documented and they have bolstered their ranks with three in the space of seven days.
The Daily Mail claim that the deal has cost City an initial £2m, but will rise to £8m with add ons.
Roberts was in the final year of his deal at Craven Cottage but comes as one of the hottest young prospects in the country.
A statement on Fulham website read: “The club can confirm that Patrick Roberts has joined Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. We wish him the best of luck in the future.”
