The company that represents Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has spoken out following speculation linking the 26-year-old with a move away from the Westfalenstadion this summer.
The Daily Express report that despite signing a new deal until 2019 in February, there were rumours that he could be heading for the exit, with Arsenal and Liverpool leading the Premier League charge for his signature. The departure of Jurgen Klopp was suggested as a potential reason for a possible move.
However, Sports Total have revealed that while their client is honoured to be wanted elsewhere, he is more than happy with where he is currently, the Express report.
“We can say with certainty that the player is having a wonderful time at Dortmund. He is flattered by the interest of many European teams but he’s recently decided to stay in Dortmund,” they insisted.
While the playmaker has enjoyed a lot of success with Dortmund, this summer seemed like it may be the right time for Reus to go after a new challenge.
As well as the resignation of the maverick Klopp, the club failed to earn a place in the upcoming season’s Champions League.
Meanwhile, Reus is reaching an age where he should be reaching his peak, so it may have been tempting to seek a challenge at the very highest level.
