Serie AS giants Napoli have confirmed that Arsenal target Eduardo Vargas is mulling over a move to the United Arab Emirates this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Chilean international spent the 2014/15 season on loan with Queens Park Rangers, but has now returned to Italy following his exploits with his country at the Copa America.
The Serie A giants now claim that he has several offers from Premier League and La Liga sides, including Arsenal, where Alexis Sanchez even pleaded with Arsene Wenger to make a move for him (via Daily Star).
However, Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has revealed that a move to either Spain or the United Arab Emirates is more likely.
“We deal with many offers for Eduardo Vargas,” Giuntoli said.
“The UAE offer is very good for the club, but we’re also handling an offer from Spain.
“I cannot say the club, but they want to buy the player.”
The 25-year-old only managed to chalk up three goals for QPR last term as they slid back down towards the Championship.
There is a sense that he is another David Healy, though, in the sense that he is prolific for his country but struggles to find the net on any kind of regular basis for his club side.
